According to Sanrio lore, Cinnamaroll is a male (he/him) pup, however there are many of his kind whom are female (she/her.) Each with their own personality and signature appearances. For this photoshoot, I decided to Genderbend Cinnamaroll.

Another aspect we are also changing the pup form into a human version. In Japanese this is referred to as a "Gijinka" (ζ¬δΊΊε). We'll also take inspiration from trendy Asian fashion models and magazines, while adding an element of spice to the photos.
Your waredrobe is different than mine. That's why aside from giving you the details of my various outfits, you won't go home empty handed. Because, I'll also be sharing with you 2 outfit ideas inspired by Cinnamaroll and tips on how you can incorporate any character into your personal daily style.
Firstly we need to understand Cinnamaroll's defining traits:
• Friendly and Curious Nature: These personality traits should be retained in any genderbend.
• White Fur: Cinnamoroll has soft, fluffy white fur.
• Long Ears: His long ears are a distinctive feature and enable him to fly.
• Big Blue Eyes: He has large, expressive blue eyes.
• Curly Tail: His tail is curly and resembles a cinnamon roll, which is how he got his name.
• Small Size: Cinnamoroll is small and cute, often depicted as a little puppy.
Designing the Genderbent Appearance
The inspiration for this outfit came directly from the Cinnamoroll Sanrio clothing collection, which prominently features preppy, academia, and varsity themes throughout its styling. The collection is characterized by elements such as skirts, a soft blue pastel color palette, and knee-high socks, all of which capture Cinnamoroll's charming and playful essence. These themes bring a sense of nostalgic schoolgirl fashion, combining timeless preppy aesthetics with a modern, whimsical twist that perfectly embodies Cinnamoroll's friendly and cheerful personality.
Outfit Idea 1: Academia Cute
Description:
A comfortable and cute everyday academia inspired outfit that reflects Cinnamoroll's innocent and friendly nature.
This little number was a fan favorite during the 2023 Taboo Show. It was the first outfit in my line up, minus the wig, fulfilling the criteria I have for this look.
Components
Top:
• A light blue, pastel pink, or white snug blouse with cute texture, small collar or embroidery.
Second Top Layer:
• A small chevron sweater vest allowing the blouse to peek from underneath for a touch of preppy style.
• An oversized sweater would also work.
Bottom:
• A navy or dark blue mini skirt to compliment the academia vibe.
Footwear:
• Black lace up loafers with a faux suede finish.
• Cute knee high socks with frills.
Accessories:
• A blonde- white wig to mimic Cinnamoroll’s long ears.
• A pair of small white or pastel blue hair accessories or bows.
• Simple jewelry like small stud earrings or a delicate necklace.
Hair and Makeup:
•Subtle makeup with emphasis on the eyes – think big, expressive eyes with blue eyeliner or eyeshadow and a natural lip color.
This outfit idea perfectly blend casual comfort with playful jfashion, making it an excellent choice for a genderbent Cinnamoroll cosplay right on time for Halloween or a fun, everyday look for school inspired by the character.
